Custom Shopify build
Custom sections and theme development so your storefront actually looks and feels like your brand, not a stock theme with your logo dropped in.
In depth
What custom shopify build really involves
Plenty of stores run fine on a good theme with a few tweaks. A custom build makes sense when the theme keeps fighting you. Your product needs a configurator the theme can't do. The layout your brand needs doesn't exist. Or you've stacked so many apps to bend the theme that the site is slow and fragile.
Custom doesn't have to mean starting from nothing. Often the sensible route is building on Shopify's own foundation and adding bespoke sections, templates and small apps where they're needed, keeping everything else standard. That keeps cost and risk down and leaves you able to edit most of the store yourself in the theme editor.
Our blog post on custom Shopify sites goes through when it's worth it. Briefly, we try to talk people out of custom work they don't need. If a theme and a couple of apps will do the job, that's the better answer, and we'll say so before you spend the money.
